Whole Earth

Whole Earth is one of the best vegetarian restaurant that serves wonderful dishes that I have ever had. I made a reservation for corner seating and we visited Whole Earth Restaurant on Sunday for a brunch. The place is clean, cosy and comfortable. Its recently refreshed interiors sport emerald green walls, more seats and a better ventilation system – all enhanced our dining pleasure. Due to COVID-19 pandemic safety measures, all tables are quite far apart. Service is exceptionally good. Waiters were attentive and polite. Whole Earth Restaurant is located along Peck Seah Street, nearest train station is Tanjong Pagar. It offers a tantalising collection of vegetarian dishes that are suitable for dates, family gatherings and large groups.

Whole Earth

WHOLE EARTH is Singapore’s first and only Peranakan-Thai plant-based cuisine restaurant since 2003 for vegetarians and carnivores. I am spoilt for choice with a wide variety of meal selection to choose from. What I love about this place is that it uses "monkey head mushrooms" for its mock meats, instead of gluten. Thus, for those who have gluten intolerance or dislike gluten texture, this is the perfect place to get your vegetarian meal. Food quantities are more than adequate. All dishes are presentable and colourful!

Handmade Honey Lotus Root

Handmade honey lotus root is one of their masterpiece of creations. There were six big pieces of fried food, served with fresh lettuce and sliced carrots. Every piece was individually handrooled to perfection, crispy and coated evenly with a delightful blend of honey. This dish was made of a myriad of healthy ingredients including monkeyhead mushroom, shiitake mushroom and lotus root.

Handmade Honey Lotus Root

Handmade honey lotus root was full of flavour and it had strong taste of mushroom though I presumed that it had some lotus root taste. They used a lot of mushrooms instead of flour and gluten. Although price was a bit steep for vegetarian dish but excellent value and it’s certainly heaven for vegetarians.

Enchanted Forest

I like monkey head mushroom's distinctive texture. So, I ordered Enchanted Forest, which contained succulent monkeyhead mushroom and fresh broccoli in perfect harmony with a specially blended sauce of angelica root “dang gui” and wolfberries. Broccoli and mushrooms were well cooked with very authentic flavours. Angelica root gravy is delicious and definitely worth to try this dish.

Steamed Jade Wrap

The most classic steamed cabbage rolls are usually stuffed with pork. Vegetarian steamed cabbage rolls sound interesting to me. It is a refreshingly dish of steamed cabbage rolls stuffed with black fungus, bamboo pith, mushroom, celery, cabbage and carrot.  Each roll was
wrapped beautifully and served with green sauce. Nevertheless, taste was not as nice as it looked. I couldn't taste the fillings and cabbage taste was too strong. This dish was plain and the cabbage was too thick.

Handmade Treasure Yam Ring

A hunt for the best vegetarian dish is not complete without Whole Earth's handmade yam treasure ring. It is truly a treasure trove of healthy ingredients, which includes lily bulbs, capsicum, celery, cashew nuts and king abalone mushrooms. This dish is a must-try for yam lovers. Yam was warm and crispy outside. At first bite, it was grainier, starchy and sweet inside. The fillings of yam rings were generously stuffed with variety of fresh and savoury ingredients.

Handmade Treasure Yam Ring

They really cook unique kind of food created from the fusion of Thai and Southeast Asian cooking techniques. It's not even tasty but creative too. This is my first visit to Whole Earth and I will return to try more dishes. It has a diverse food menu and I haven't tried other signature food. See their full menu at this page.
