Looking after two babies and doing household chores are difficult tasks. Staying up late every night and working non-stop is a norm. I have been doing all these for almost two years. To destress and ensure I don't work till insane, I eat out every week with babies and their strollers. It's never easy to bring two tiny human with me.
If you are planning to eat out with your baby, there are several things you should always consider. Friendly staffs to babies, clean washrooms and nursing rooms are not sufficient because I have been to many places with my babies from shopping malls to eateries.
One week before CNY, I went to lobby lounge at Westin Hotel to enjoy seafood afternoon tea. Four or five star hotels usually served afternoon tea between 3pm to 5pm or later. This hotel provided two seatings; 2pm to 4pm and 4:30pm to 6:30pm during weekends. I chose the latter one because my baby took afternoon nap.
There were many car parking lots available and large enough to take my baby strollers out of our car boot.
Seafood Afternoon Tea |
The lobby lounge has high ceiling. The place is bright and clean. Tables are not close to each other like most restaurants in Singapore. It's convenient to push my strollers. Most babies are afraid of sitting too close to strangers. This restaurant is truly baby friendly to hang out.

Comfortable Sofa And Couch For Afternoon Tea |
We sat next to the window facing unblock view. The view helped me to distract my baby for awhile. They are lying comfortably on their strollers and enjoying the beautiful scenery through the high windows.
In addition, the staffs didn't rush us to decide with the menu. Baby high chair was not always necessary. We were sitting on the sofa, which had similar height with our strollers. The seat was comfortable enough for you to feed your baby.
Nice View Of South China Sea |
Ambience was fantastic. Although scenery was not very breathtaking, it was very relaxing to eat accompanied with a picturesque view of the South China Sea through the large, floor-to-ceiling windows. We enjoyed every moment having high tea and playing with our babies in the lobby lounge.
True Baby-friendly Restaurant |
Here is the menu in the following pictures.
The Tower |
They served two teapots of TWG for my husband and I as we ordered different tea. Soon after I took a sip of hot tea, a smiley waitress put a tower on our wide coffee table. The afternoon tea tower contained three tiers. Highest tier came with two lobster rolls on a glossy glass plate. The food in last two tiers were same.
Crab Tartare |
A mouthful of crab tartare was placed on melba toast with salmon roe. It looked so impressive and taste was great.
Lobster Roll |
Sesame Tuna And Seared Scallop |
Clam Ceviche Shooter |

Grilled marinated prawn and cold noodles were wrapped in spring roll skin. Spring roll skin was soft and I preferred crispy skin. Flavour was mediocre. One more savoury item in the high tea tower was seared scallop Waldorf salad, apple, celeriac and potato chips. The scallop was seared to slightly golden brown crust. Waldorf salad and apple were served as cream, which was placed between potato chip and seared scallop. It was mildly sweet, tasty and incredibly delicious.
On The Slate |
Lobster Thermidor |
Lobster Thermidor is a French dish as rich and luxurious as it sounds. It consisted of a creamy mixture of cooked lobster meat, egg yolks, and brandy, stuffed into a lobster shell. It was served with an oven-browned cheese crust. Lobster meat was fresh and tender. A delight for my taste buds!
Fresh Oysters |
On the slate, fresh oysters were accompanied with champagne dressing, shallot vinaigrette, lychee bourbon and lime. Texture was soft, plump and springy. Oyster was briny but taste was awesome when added with lemon juice and other dressing.
