Best Vegetarian Restaurant | Elemen at Great World City | Updated Menu 2020
Elemen @ Great World City
Due to COVID-19 outbreak, we decided to go to less crowded places. I presumed that Great World City shopping mall should be quieter than Orchard, Bugis and City Hall area because there were no MRT and bus stops within walking distance. We reached early at 5:30pm. Surprisingly, it was not crowded on Saturday.
Elemen Restaurant at Great World City |
Elemens is one of the best vegetarian restaurants that offers meat-free Asian dining experience. They serve creative and fantastic vegetarian dishes with great value. There are 3 other branches at Harbourfront, Millenia Walk and Paya Lebar, which are accessible to MRT and bus stations. These 3 places are usually crowded. It is not suitable for family outing who have babies or young kids.
Elemen Restaurant at Great World City |
We arrived as early as possible to avoid the crowd. I was the first customer. There was a hand sanitiser bottle at the entrance. The ambience and environment was great. Staffs were polite and patient. They reserved a table for four with extra space for us to put our baby strollers aside. The waitress gave care bear cup, bowl, fork and spoon to my toddler. When my toddler spilt the water on the table, one of the staffs was attentive and quickly wiped it.
Elemen Restaurant at Great World City |
Overall, the restaurant gave modern feel. The lighting led to a happy and peaceful atmosphere for me. There was a private dining room at the end of the restaurant. We ordered 6-course meal for 2 persons; starter, bread, choice of salad or soup, main course, dessert and hot or cold beverage.
Starter - The Classic Appetiser |
Serve starter on a textured platter added a classic serving style. Waitress explained the ingredients of our starters; tomato, cucumber and jelly. I felt like having fine dining of vegetarian version.
Truffle Breadstick with Blueberry Yoghurt Cream |
After starter, we had four sticks of bread with blueberry yoghurt sauce. It was appetising when I dipped the stick in the sauce. The bread stick texture was firm. Without the blueberry yoghurt sauce, the bread sticks had similar taste as whole wheat bread.
Double-boiled Cordyceps Flower with Peach Gum in Superior Soup |
Double-boiled superior soup was savoury. It had strong herbal flavour and smelt fragrant. There were old cucumber, red dates, white fungus, peach gum and cordyceps flower in a bowl of soup. Chinese traditional herbal soup is nourishing and is believed to boost your energy.
Winged Bean Salad |
Winged bean salad was colourful and beautifully displayed on the plate. It looked even nicer when they put a purple flower on top the salad. Salad was quite bland. After all, vegetable doesn't have strong taste. They added crispy crackers and some sauce with sour and sweet taste.
Stir-Fried Angel Hair Pasta in Black Truffle Sauce |
Angel hair pasta with sautéed porcini mushrooms was tossed in aromatic black truffle sauce. Pasta was scattered with shaves of black truffle and topped with a bit of salad and tiny flower as decoration. Pasta in black truffle sauce was a creative dish and also savoury.
Pink Salt Tofu with Purple Roll |
Pink salt tofu with purple roll was artistic and very presentable. There were cucumber and carrot sticks in the sushi roll. Gluten-free purple rice was wrapped with cucumber and carrot with cereal and chilli padi topping. The sushi was served alongside the tofu with dash of pink Himalayan salt. Tofu was crispy outside, soft and smooth inside. Cereal was crunchy too.

Red Velvet Peanut Butter Cake |
Red velvet cake was layered by peanut butter with dash of fine peanut dust. Cake was soft and spongy. Peanut butter flavour was very strong that you would feel like eating peanut butter sponge cake.
Chocolate Lava Cake with Gelato |
When I cut the cake, my favourite part of eating lava cake was to see the texture of the matcha lava and how fast the chocolate lava was oozing out. This lava cake had chocolate cake outside with a gooey, undercooked and hot creamy matcha inside. The chocolate smell and taste was not as strong as Secret Recipe's chocolate lava cake. I guess this is vegetarian version of chocolate lava cake and baked with slightly different ingredients. However, chocolate lava was pleasantly luscious and it had rich taste of chocolate.

Ice Lychee Rose |
Ice lychee rose was soda beverage with rose flavour. The drink was artistic that it made me feel thirsty. Ice lychee rose was delicious and nicely decorated with a slice of dried orange, real green leaves and lychee in the stick. One interesting part was the straw. Paper straw is really eco-friendly alternative as they are a single-use, disposable and biodegradable. Elemen supports the motto "Love Self, Love Earth" by eating vegetable and meatless food to be healthy, without compromising the animals and environment.
Sweet Potato Latte |
Sweet potato latte was served hot and sweet. It was just nice, neither creamy nor watery. It didn't have sticky texture like most sweet potato. This was a true latte with a thick layer of white foam on top of sweet potato purple juice. Another pleasurable beverage I want to recommend.
There are many other main dishes that looked delicious. Take a look at the food menu captured as follows. Pink salt coffee with a layer of salt foam sounds interesting too. The reason behind is that salt neutralizes the bitterness. I would suggest you to give yourself a favourable treat in this fabulous vegetarian restaurant.
