I found another baby-friendly and stroller-friendly restaurant in Singapore! Sofitel is a luxury hotel situated in the central business district. We went as a family of four; two adults and two babies with one sizeable stroller. The staffs were friendly and they loved babies. Atmosphere was great with amazing setting and lighting. Their service was top notch.

We visited Racines for set lunch. Lunch is only available from Monday to Saturday between 12pm to 3pm. Please note that Brunch buffet is served on Sunday, and a-la-carte will not be available.

During circuit breaker period, breakfast and pastries are available from 8am to 6pm. Lunch and dinner are available from 10am to 10pm. All orders must be made at least one hour in advance. For self-collection, please collect it at level 5. Complimentary delivery is available for orders within 500m radius.

Racines At Sofitel Singapore City Centre

Racines’ interactive and dynamic open-kitchen concept is designed to provide diners a sensorial experience. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant boasts a panoramic 180-degree view. Located on level five of Sofitel Singapore City Centre, Racines is easily accessible with direct lifts from Tanjong Pagar MRT and is situated adjacent to the hotel’s main lobby. The restaurant offers its signature a la carte menu alongside a buffet breakfast selection. Seating a maximum of 136 diners, Racines offers a dynamic and convivial space that can be configured to accommodate groups of various sizes.

Executive Chef Jean-Charles Dubois walked to our table. He had a small chat with us and tried to befriend with our babies. Food was great and quite delicate. I had a good experience here partly because the venue was lovely too with great lighting and pleasant environment for babies.

Sliced Turkey Breast

For appetiser, I ordered sliced turkey breast with ham, fresh chervil oil, peppered cranberry salsa, arugula and grapefruit. Food presentation looked very enticing. I loved every bite of the food served on the plate. Eating turkey bread with peppered cranberry salsa was a perfect match. Arugula and grapefruit were fresh and sweet.

Foie Gras Butter Toast

Another plate of appetiser was foie gras butter toast. It was a sumptuous treat with toasted sourdough, foie gras rillettes, caramelized figs and berry verge. Foie gras butter toast was crunch, rich, buttery and delicate. Butter and foie gras rillettes were brushed evenly on the toasted sourdough. So I could taste the foie gras butter toast, greens and the fruits at one time.

Actually, there are three more appetisers available in the menu. Scallop carpaccio ceviche with Granny Smith slaw, chilled pea velour with shredded crab meat and kale salad should be lip smacking because the chef prepared two gorgeous appetisers for us.

Pan-fried Locally Farmed Barramundi

Pan-fried locally farmed barramundi was accompanied by stewed white cannelloni beans, crispy capers and caviar creme. Barramundi was pan-fried perfectly. Fish skin was crispy and not over burnt. Fish meat was fresh, flavourful, juicy and not briny. My 18-month-old toddler didn't like solid food but surprisingly she loved eating the fish. Stewed white cannelloni beans were slightly sweet and spicy, which was very delicious to eat with barramundi and capers.

Fried Iberico Pork Rack

Fried Iberico pork rack was seasoned with "Ching Kiang" vinegar glaze and accompanied by seasonal greens and fragrant garlic rice. It was an ordinary pork chop rice. However, the whole plate looked presentable and colourful. Food portion was average for a male adult. They served fragrant garlic rice instead of typical steamed white rice. Pork rack was slightly crispy, tender and good enough to chew. Pork was fully coated with delish sauce, which was sweet, salty and a bit peppery.

The entire food menu descriptions sound appealing. There are four more options available in the main course such as pan-seared anise infused French duck breast, chargrilled black Angus beef ribeye, classic slow-roasted Turkey with truffle butter and blue cheese gnocchi with roasted topinambour.

Warm Cinnamon Chocolate Cake

Last but not least, we had a warm cinnamon chocolate cake with orange reduction and citrus segments. Oranges are usually quite sour but the citrus segments on the plate were sweet. My baby ate all three citrus segments quickly. Cinnamon added an extra layer of flavour to this moist and decadent chocolate. Cake was so rich with the perfect balance of fluffy and fudgy, possibly one of the most chocolatey cake I have ever had.

Ivory Chocolate Yuzu Cake

Two pieces of ivory chocolate yuzu cakes were served with mascarpone, vanilla creme, blueberry compote and coconut dacquoise. It was a perfect dessert after a meal. A deliciously fragrant Japanese citrus fruit, yuzu and chocolate made a perfect couple. A smooth creamy-white chocolate yuzu cake had lemonade-orange flavour and mild chocolate taste. Another dessert option was rosemary and apricot frangipane tart with mulled wine glee, honeycomb and chestnut ice cream.

Racines At Sofitel Singapore City Centre

For a 3-course lunch, the expected damage is $40++ per person. Additional soup makes up a 4-course lunch, which costs $48++. Two types of soups are available in the menu. One is roasted kabocha Deloitte with foie gras mousse ravioli and truffle emulsion. Another soup is Chinese "west lake" soup with minced wagyu beef and beancurd. You may click this link for various set menu.

My stroller was parked safely on my right. It neither blocked the walkway nor the open-kitchen and other tables. I had a fantastic lunch with my babies. They seemed to like this place. Given a comfortable setting, I think I should order a 4-course lunch.
